Websites, catalogues & useful systems

Give each product a dependable reference.

A catalogue should connect a customer's application with information your team can stand behind.

Choose the product distinction that matters to the enquiry

A catalogue for an Italy-connected supplier may need to distinguish formats, materials, finishes or compatible components. A large grid of attractive photographs cannot replace those distinctions. We work from the approved product information and the way buyers actually identify an item.

For example: a small surface-material range

In a hypothetical catalogue, two tiles share a commercial name but have different dimensions and finishes. The page can connect each option to its own approved reference and technical sheet, while making clear that a screen photograph is an illustration of appearance rather than a physical sample approval.

That example raises useful decisions: whether options belong on one page, which dimensions must appear in the enquiry and who approves Italian and English descriptions. We do not invent test results or certification marks to fill an empty specification table.

Make the update process workable

Bring one representative family and the files used to maintain it. We assess the identifiers, document revisions and discontinued items before importing a wider range. If a supplier sends a replacement sheet, the editor should know which variant it affects and whether an older customer link needs to remain understandable.

The finished test follows a buyer from a product question to the correct reference in the receiving enquiry. Live stock, trade prices and online payment can be assessed as separate tasks. Start with a small product family rather than a confidential full archive.
